Union Apprenticeships

Plastering ApprenticeshipPlasterers in western Pennsylvania are members of the Operative Plasterers and Cement Masons International Association Local Union #526. There are nearly 200 active union plasterers residing within one of 33 counties in western Pennsylvania and five counties in northeastern Ohio. Plasterers finish walls and ceilings using all types of interior and exterior products, such as conventional plaster (two and three coat system), veneer plaster (one and two coat system), level 5 (drywall taping), EIFS, moisture management systems, moisture barrier, spray fireproofing (all types) spray foam insulation, acoustical systems, ornamental plastering (cornice), and synthetic and decorative finishes (Venetian).

CLASSROOM HOURS: 640 (4 YRS)
HOURS ON-THE-JOB TRAINING: 6,000 (6 YRS)

COURSES: Unionism, Math, Blueprint Reading

AVAILABLE CERTIFICATIONS: OSHA 10 & 30, Scaffold User, Aerial Lift Operator, CPR, AED and First Aid, UPMC Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA)
